You can now play ‘Death Stranding’ on iPhone. Here’s how to get it.
Teased last year at Apple’s “Wonderlust” event, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut has finally arrived on iOS devices and can now be played on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, and Apple M-series-powered Mac computers.
Developed by acclaimed video game designer Hideo Kojima and starring The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus, Death Stranding follows Sam Porter Bridges, a courier in a post-apocalyptic United States, tasked with reconnecting isolated communities and rebuilding the nation. Originally released in 2019 on PS4, Death Stranding is a surreal, logistics sim with some neat and innovative multiplayer mechanics. A Director’s Cut for PS5 was released in 2021, which offered more weapons and vehicles, along with 4K resolution and haptic support for DualShock controllers.
How to get Death Stranding on iOS
If you’re itching to play Death Stranding on your iOS device, you can grab it on the App Store today for the price of $ 19.99. The game currently retails on consoles and PCs for $ 39.99, but if you buy it through the App Store, it will be available across all your compatible iOS devices. The game also supports cross-device syncing, so any progress made on your 15 Pro Max can be transferred to your Mac computer.
AAA gaming on mobile has never been a bastion of high performance, and based on a review of this release, that pattern seems to hold in the case of Death Stranding. But if you aren’t a stickler about the lower frame rates and iffy image quality, then it seems like you’ll get your $ 20 worth.
