Clippers coach Doc Rivers shares powerful response to Jacob Blake shooting
In an emotional talk with reporters on Tuesday, Los Angeles Clippers’ head coach Doc Rivers shared his reaction to the police shooting of Jacob Blake, as well as his frustrations, fears, and visions for rectifying racial injustice.
Rivers began by discussing the Republican National Convention.
“What stands out to me is just watching the Republican Convention and they are spewing this fear. All you hear is Donald Trump and all of them talking about fear.” Rivers said. His voice grew shaky as he expanded on the idea of fear: “We’re the ones getting killed. We’re the ones getting shot. We’re the ones that are denied to live in certain communities. We’ve been hung.
